The dialogue of fashion and art
Both deeply rooted in creative self-expression, fashion and art have constantly influenced each other. Designers are using art as a springboard for fresh ideas, pushing the boundaries of fashion and turning their designs into even grander artistic expressions.
At Leinné, art has given our designers and artisans a different perspective and lens through which they have created collections based on art collections and art movements. It embodies Leinné's dedication to fostering a unique dialogue between past and present, where timeless design principles inspire a fresh perspective for modern dressing.
Explore how we weave artistic influences into our collections, creating pieces that are as unique and captivating as the masterpieces that inspire them.
Jean Royère and Scallop hats
“To create a harmonious spectacle to enchant the eye, rejoice the heart and elevate the spirit.” - Jean Royère
One of the most audacious, free-spirited decorators of the twentieth century, Jean Royère was a master of transforming interiors into whimsical landscapes. His iconic status is made by the bright colors, organic shapes, and precious materials in his interiors, which remain a creative inspiration to modern-day artists.
Royère's furniture, known for its plush comfort and playful curves, embodied a spirit of joy and optimism. Similarly, the Délice Scallop and Boater Scallop hat captures this essence with its gently undulating form. The curved scallop rim, reminiscent of Royère's iconic "Polar Bear" sofa, creates a sense of movement and fluidity.
William Russel Flints and Formscape
The inspiration for this collection comes from the masterful watercolors of William Russell Flint, a Scottish artist renowned for his evocative landscapes and captivating portrayals of the human form. Flint's paintings weren't just about capturing a scene; they were about capturing a feeling. He used a masterful blend of light and shadow to evoke a sense of serenity and harmony within his landscapes. This focus on the interplay of light and form resonates deeply with the philosophy behind Formscape.
Leinné's artisans translate Flint's artistic vision into hand-stitched creations. The meticulous use of color and texture in these pieces echoes Flint's watercolors, where rolling hills and sun-drenched beaches come alive in a symphony of bright tones and delicate brushstrokes.
Rumi poems and Rumi hat
“Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you.”
Rumi, a master of mystical verse, explored themes of love, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of all things.
Inspired by the mystical verses of Rumi, this hat is an embodiment of love and poetry. Verses from Rumi's exquisite poetry are embroidered beneath the brim. Rumi hat gives a sense of serene mystery that epitomizes summer romance.
Daniel Spoerri and Sedna jacket
Daniel Spoerri is a notable artist of the Nouveau Realism movement. He believed in capturing the essence of everyday objects and moments in time. His "assemblages" brought together found items – scraps of fabric, worn utensils, even discarded food – and transformed them into thought-provoking narratives. This unconventional approach to art inspires Leinné artisans to create the Sedna jacket.
The “golden plate”, a round pocket crafted in golden velvet, is influenced by Daniel Spoerri’s snare-pictures. The asymmetrical cut mirrors the ever-shifting shapes of the dunes, designed for those who embrace a touch of unconventionality. It's a statement piece, blurring the lines between utility and artistic expression.
