Windhoek is the capital and largest city of Namibia, located in central Namibia in the Khomas Highland plateau area. The city pulsates with a unique blend of colonial charm, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural beauty.  It is considered one of the cleanest cities in Africa.

Founded in 1840, this city wears its history proudly, showcasing German architectural influences in iconic landmarks like the Alte Feste, a former fort turned museum, and the Christuskirche, a sandstone Lutheran church towering over the cityscape. Nature lovers can spot zebras and giraffes at Daan Viljoen Game Reserve, just outside the city, or marvel at the majestic cheetahs at the Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary. For a touch of culture, immerse yourself in the vibrant craft scene at the Namibia Craft Centre, or revisit the country’s art scene at the National Art Gallery of Namibia.

Karas region - Captivating hiddem gem

This often-overlooked gem in the south of Namibia holds a treasure trove of diverse landscapes, fascinating history, and adventurous possibilities. Plunge into Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon in Africa, and step into the Kolmanskop Ghost Town, which preserves faded grandeur and personal artifacts. For off-the-beaten-path experience, discover a vibrant treasure trove of semi-precious agate stones at Agate beach, or spot desert flamingos and explore ancient rock engravings at Garub Pan.

Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei - The largest sand dunes of the world

In the middle of the Namib Desert, one of Namibia's scenic highlights can be found: the Sossusvlei and the Dead Vlei. The scenery in Dead Vlei is so unique: skeletal silhouettes of ancient camel thorn trees, standing against the backdrop of towering red dunes, as though it’s from another world, or another time.

Close to the Dead Vlei lies the just as impressive Sossusvlei. A landscape painted in sand and sun, Sossusvlei is a photographer's paradise and a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable desert experience.

Hiking and climbing amidst the towering dunes is an exhilarating experience, each step sinking into the warm embrace of the sand. Big Daddy, the tallest dune in the area, offers breathtaking panoramic views, while Dune 45, with its perfect crescent shape, is a photographer's favorite.

Sandwich Harbour - Where desert meets ocean

Tucked away on the Namibian coast, this area is a true gem, offering a breathtaking blend of glistening lagoons and diverse wildlife.

It’s where the towering sand dunes roll down to meet the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. One minute you may find the playful dolphins, and the next minute you may spot the desert dwellers like jackals, ostriches, and even the rare desert elephant.
